Summer is ending
Well, summer is almost
over, and I feel like I have gotten almost nothing
done. I have barely put a dent in the marching show
that I am supposed to write (for free during my
non-contract months) for North Mesquite. Just have
not had that much time to get into it that much. It
is VERY distracting with the kids running around the
house. Every single time I head to school to write, I
have a co-worker in the office or a bunch of students
who just don’t seem to leave. Sharing an office is
really not a good thing for me. Just feel extremely
behind on this writing assignment.
I have spent some good moments with my kids this summer, though. It has been enjoyable to get to know them better. They act SO much better all of the time when I make time to talk to them, take them places, tickle them. It is a shame that so much of my life is dedicated to raising other people’s children to the point that I basically neglect my own during the school year. This year will be when I finally scale back my working hours and make coming home a high priority. If they don’t like that, then they can find the younger, cheaper model to tell kids how to hit drums.
